ALLEN’S LOVE POEM TO CAITLIN FROM THE AFTERLIFE

ALLEN CAITLIN LOVE

ALLEN’S LOVE POEM TO CAITLIN FROM THE AFTERLIFE

Oh Caitlin Oh Caitlin

New daughter of Sappho

I love you like the daffodils

Love the Spring

Woman, Amazonian princess

Your star upon a magazine,

Your vanity be no name

But upon my heart

And in the moonlight

We shall run Olympic races

Through the flowers

And through the fields

And afterwards

You can clean my glasses

And I shall touch your …

Wait !

Alas, somehow you’ve changed

Your beauty strangely different

Your eyes now a different shade

And I can no longer find your …

your … your … your …

Oh Caitlin  Oh Caitlin

Alas now, I must leave

And if thy man may

Return one day

Have him call me

If you please

I’ll be waiting near

The bananas section in the

Supermarket

Of your dreams

“Fare thee well”
